Education for All project by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization)

Here’s a short summary of the project:

HISTORY: The Education for All movement is a global commitment to provide quality basic education for all children, youth and adults. The movement was launched at the World Conference on Education for All in 1990 by UNESCO, UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF and the World Bank. Participants endorsed an 'expanded vision of learning' and pledged to universalize primary education and massively reduce illiteracy by the end of the decade. Ten years later, with many countries far from having reached this goal the international community met again and affirmed their commitment to achieving Education for All by the year 2015. They identified *six key education goals which aim to meet the learning needs of all children, youth and adults by 2015.

MISSION: is to promote education as a fundamental human right, to improve the quality of education and to facilitate policy dialogue, knowledge sharing and capacity building.

*THE SIX GOALS: Six internationally agreed education goals aim to meet the learning needs of all children, youth and adults by 2015. For more information on the goals visit:

  1. Good post Nishi, but please make sure you reference all the information you post. Your information has been gathered from more than one source so make sure you say what the sources are.

    In relation to your post.
Do you think that education and poverty can be addressed separately?
At what level do you think people should "have" to attend school?
