The Winter Olympic Games are being held in Sochi, Russi this year.
The opening ceremony took place on friday the seventh of February.
One of the rings failed to open and it instantly made headlines....
The olympics should normally be a peaceful even but there is always something negative that will occur. Maybe the purpose of the Olympics is really to give other countries the chance to focus on social justice issues.

Is the olympics usually a peaceful event? What kinds of issues occurred previously? What sorts of issues are they (racism, gender etc.)?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think the fail of last ring symbolises?
ReplyDeleteTo answer Sir Achtung's question.. I think that the whole idea of the olympic games is to momentarily bring everyone together and forget about the issues but sometimes people use it to bring chaos and confusion... (for eg. Taking the competition so seriously that when you dont accept your loss and there have been occasions were the competitors have been attacked or have recieved multiple amounts of hate and death threats because they lost or didnt win)
ReplyDeleteAre there ways to solve the possibility of confusion and chaos?
DeleteTo answer Mr Shashvat's question... I dont think the Olympic ring fail meant anything necessarily.. I just think it was a technical error that people are focusing way too much on..
ReplyDeleteYes but what does this ring fail tell the people who are focusing too much on it? What do they think it mean?
DeleteNothing.. Some countries just want to see the downfall of other countries.. It doesnt mean much generally
ReplyDeletethen why did it make headlines?? What does it really mean?
ReplyDeleteI think its an interesting question. Could the ring fail symbolize that there is something fundamentally wrong with the Russian approach to the Olympic games.
